Mary Leopold

Mary Leopold is a licensed clinical social worker with private practice offices in Evanston and Northbrook, IL. Mary received her B.A. from Princeton University in 1989 where she was first introduced to the practice of yoga. She received two master's degrees from the University of Chicago: one in religion and the other in social work.

Mary specializes in the treatment of both children and adults and has always been attuned to--and intrigued by--the connection between emotional and physical health.

Mary obtained her yoga teacher training certification through Sonia Sumar's Yoga for the Special Child, fulfilling a long-standing desire to integrate her belief in the transformative benefits of yoga for children of all abilities. Most recently, Mary has been invited to teach Radiant Child Yoga at Heaven Meets Earth, where she continues her training under the guidance of Lisa Weber.

In addition to offering classes through the Radiant Child Program, Mary will also offer individual and group instruction for children with special needs.

Mary lives with her husband and two children in Evanston. Her children's favorite made-up pose is Hopping Tree pose, which has become a beloved asana in class.
